The guesthouse was extremely spacious and clean. the location was perfect, right off the main road and across from the black sand beach. the updated bathrooms were a pleasant surprise, and the towels and hairdryer provided added convenience. the combined double beds were comfortable, and the full-sized kitchen had plenty of space to sit and enjoy meals.
it was about a 10-minute drive into town for eating or grocery shopping. It would have been nice if the check-in time could have been a little earlier.

The guesthouse had a convenient location close to popular attractions like Black Beach, Vik, and Dyrholey. the rooms had comfortable beds and a big window with a beautiful view of the night sky. the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, with a cart for toiletries. the shared showers were sufficient for the number of rooms, and one of them seemed newly decorated. There were plenty of towels provided, including small guest towels in the toilets. the overall atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with more than enough seating places. the guesthouse was situated next to horses and sheep, offering a great view and a sense of openness. Check-in was easy, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Felt very at home, no complaints.

The newly decorated room at Giljur Guesthouse was simply delightful. The breathtaking mountain views and the abundance of birds in the fields made for a truly picturesque stay. The lounge area had several tables where we could enjoy our meals, and the tranquility of the surroundings made for a peaceful experience. The location was also convenient, with easy access to Vik, Gulfoss, and the Skaftafell glacier. We even discovered a hidden gem - a free pool in the valley of Seljalandvellir with stunning views. The room was clean and comfortable, and the nights were blissfully quiet, thanks to the respectful guests.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it would have been more convenient to have a kettle and coffee-related amenities in the room. Having coffee in bed is a small pleasure we always look forward to on vacation.

The guesthouse was in a great location, close to many attractions and with easy access to Vik. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, allowing us to extend our stay due to road closures. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we had our own bathroom. The communal areas, such as the kitchen and living room, were also clean and well-maintained. Additionally, the guesthouse provided a fully equipped kitchen, allowing us to make our own breakfast and pack lunches for the day.
One small inconvenience was the check-in process, as we had to go to the main house and call the owner upon arrival. However, this was quickly resolved as the owner happened to be there when we arrived.

This was hands down the best place I stayed during my trip to Iceland. the location was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. the guesthouse itself was spotless and had everything I needed, including a huge kitchen. the owner was incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. the room was spacious and comfortable, and I had a couple of shared bathrooms at my disposal. the owners also lived nearby, which was convenient in case I needed any assistance. And let's not forget about the friendly dog on the property!
Honestly, there wasn't much to dislike about my stay here. If I had to nitpick, the kitchen could use a bit of an update as it seemed a bit worn out.
